Out of curiosity I was wondering if you were to swing with say {Frontline Medic} and two other creatures could anyone say in response kill one of your creatures? Or does the indestructible go off as soon as the cards are turned sideways
They would have to target 1 of the three creatures before you declare attackers.
In other words during the start of combat theyed have to target, once it hits declare attackers they all attack at once so if there's three there's no getting past it at this time.
The three attacking creatures don't have to be attacking the same player or planeswalker.
Once a battalion ability has triggered, it doesn't matter how many creatures are still attacking when that ability resolves.
The effects of battalion abilities vary from card to card. Read each card carefully.

If you can just kill, kill the medic...lol
But yea the "response" is made at declare attackers, before "the tapping".
So say I was to use {Legion's Initiative} and than when I get my creatures back they than are able to swing without him ever getting priority back so that way when I swing with {Frontline Medic} my creatures ideally are indestructible and he really can't do to much except maybe respond to the batallion?
I believe he can still respond, since yor creatures will come back into the game before you actually declare attackers, which he does have that same chance to respond with say, {Killing Glare}.
Anyone else have an idea?
Yes, he would still be able to respond to declared combat / declared attackers / declared blockers / batallion's triggers / etc as normal. The flicker effect of {Legion's Initiative} is mostly to protect you from sorcery speed board-wipe removal like {Supreme Verdict}
Your opponent will always be passed priority between each of those phase changes where he can use instant-speed effects, no matter what. (With the exception of the untap phase and cleanup phase, where neither player gets priority)
Well see the only thing I'm thinking tho is when I say I'm entering my attack phase he can respond but if he responds to me declaring I'm going to enter my combat phase that means my creatures aren't flipped yet because he is responding to me declaring that...right? That means I've never hit the combat step yet because he is trying to respond? So basically he could only respond to them coming into play but idk if he would be able to because they are just coming back into play and than I decide to swing that's when I pass my priority. Idk if your thinking of it like I am but that just sounds so right to me
If you use {Legion's Initiative}, it plays out like this.
You declare combat. Legion's trigger of returning your creatures is put on the stack.
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond. (Your creatures are not there yet, thus he has no targets)
Legion trigger resolves. Your creatures enter the battlefield. Any ETB effects they may have are put on the stack.
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond. Your creatures are now there. They can be targeted.
(Any ETB effects start to resolve, after each one resolves, You pass your opponent priority and he may respond.)
You declare your attackers. Batallion triggers and is added to the stack.
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond.
Batallion resolves. Your creatures are now indestructible. (Assuming this Batallion trigger is still from {Frontline Medic}, as it was earlier in the thread ;) )
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond.
Blockers are declared.
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond.
Combat damage occurs.
You pass your opponent priority and he may respond.
Ah, the waltz of magic combat...
That was perfect thank you very much for that one!
Just so we are clear, still using the medic example, after battalion is triggered they can respond with a kill spell and it would resolve before indestructable, so you could kill something this way
To add one thing to that great explaination:
Priority is not passed when a creature enters the battlefield. Priority is only passed on phase changes and when things are added to the stack. So if you did not have and ETB effects on your dudes then you dont have to passed just because they entered.
This is very important whn you are playing {birthing pod}.
