I got a review from a chap in Canada, along the lines of 'The only complaint that I would have is the life counter in EDH/Commander. When you take commander damage your life total also decreases. From my understanding, commander damage is seperate from your life total. Other than that, this is a fantastic app'
I thought General damage is part of life total?
The general can deal 21 dmg....I think 21....by himself and you win. That 21 dmg still reduces the total 40 dmg...I think. So you can win by either a total of 21 general dmg or 40 dmg with the general and minions. Spike plays a lot of EDH....he will confirm.

General damage definitely contributes to normal damage, otherwise you would start with 51 life in two pools and that's more confusing than the game already is.
This is a common confusion and have encountered (and argued) this misunderstanding MANY times.
Right, so I lost 1 star as a misunderstanding ;)
Oh, and the official life counter is rubbish, it tracks General damage as if it was separate ;)
