Boros Smack Attack! 60 cards, 0 sideboard 4 {Boros Guildgate} 10 {Mountain} 8 {Plains} 22 lands 4 {Ash Zealot} 4 {Boros Elite} 4 {Daring Skyjek} 4 {Legion Loyalist} 4 {Rubblebelt Maaka} 4 {Skyknight Legionnaire} 2 {Tajic, Blade of the Legion} 26 creatures 4 {Aurelia's Fury} 4 {Boros Charm} 4 {Skullcrack} 12 other spells Sideboard Notes: This is a deck I built for a tournament my friends want to do. It is only cards from the Return to Ravnica block (so no Ms). I've actually played it a bit and it gets results. Any suggestions? I only don't have the {Sacred Foundry}s in because I'm working on a budget. |

Quote from: Slenderbro on May 15, 2013, 06:57:47 PMwhile I do love her, she honestly seems to slow down the deck. The only thing I could replace would be the blood rush card, but even then that's 5 damage to a flying card that almost has a garented hit. She just isn't worth the mana cost here
{Aurelia, the Warleader}
Quote from: Slenderbro on May 15, 2013, 06:58:24 PMhowever much i would love the nobles, I can only use cards from the Return block in the games we want to play. But for FNM ill probly use them.
And possibly {Stromkirk Noble} if you are going for speed

Oh I forgot to explain the mechanic! If you look at my deck, i have A LOT of haste cards. There are two ways I can use these to my advantage. The first is your classic agro, beat the crud out of them in as few turns as possible. My second mechanic is what I like to call "Suprise!". It's where I put out a couple cards with battalion. Lets say I have a {Daring Skyjek} and a {Tajic, Blade of the Legion} out. In my hand I hold: {Ash Zeolot} {Legion Loyalist} and for fun a {Madcap Skills} and a {Boros charm}. With these cards I can seal the fate of the match in two turns. First, I play {Legion Loyalist} and swing for14 trample. Already they will take about 8-10 with good blocks. If the have a destroy all, I Boros charm. Next turn. Maybe one blocker left on the field. I play {Ash Zeolot} so that I get more dangerous even if they killed something last turn. I then mad cap and swing for game. I've done this with many different cards in many scenarios and 2/3 times I win the game then.

Quote from: Antirayman on May 17, 2013, 06:10:43 AMI did change it a little. What I saw you suggesting was a deck that I think would have to kill the enemy in the first 3 turns or deal with creatures and spells to powerful for them. But you did have a point: the deck had too many 4 drops. So I added the Maaka and Aurelia's Fury to speed up and improve the possibilities of the deck. But on you point about the loyalist, there really isn't a better 1 drop for a battalion deck. The loyalist has presence even in late game. And I added in {Skullcrack} because I just remembered how much I hate prevents.
If you want to play aggro i would cut all 4 drops And replace them with 1 and 2 drops.
- 4 {Scorchwalker} (i would play cheaper blood rusch) - 4 helix - 4 {Spark Trooper}
-4 legion loyalist (there are better 1 drops than this)
+ 4 {Dryad Militant} +4 {Rakdos Cackler} +4 {Frontline Medic} (it's a 3 drop but necessary in late games) +4 {Firefist Striker} +3 removal/bloodrush ({Mizzium Mortars}, {Rubblebelt Maaka}, {Mugging}, {Act of Treason})

Terminus isn't in the Return block so I won't have to deal with it. Second time someone didn't read the note.
