Title: Most confusing?
Post by: MisterJH on May 13, 2013, 10:54:11 PM
Came across {illusionary mask} in rules section, so my question is WHAT ARE THE MOST CONFUSING CARDS?! Omit any 'Banding' cards, thats a beaten to death horse.

{Sorrow's Path}

Not confusing once you figure it out, but the wording sucks.

I don't have anything to contribute (forgive me,) but I just want to say that my head hurts after reading that card.

Eh, wtf does that even say?!?  There's flipping an an X, and a 2/2, but it doesn't make any sense. Surely it's good to be worth $92?

The "paid by some amount of, or all of" really throws it off. WHAT ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH DOES THAT MEAN. Does it mean "paid by X or less?" Why didnt they just say that? !

Edit: The actual card explains it perfectly. Its the gatherer explanation thats confusing.

The Gatherer explanation is beautiful. I wish all cards were worded like that 😄

Ok yes it's a design nightmare that the rules department wishes didnt exist.

Pay {X} somewhere in the mana you paid need to be the cost of the creature. For example {1}{1} would not let you cast {Progenitus}, but {1}{W}{W}{U}{U}{B}{B}{R}{R}{G}{G} would because it includes the cost of the creature in the mana you paid.

That card is then placed face down like a morph creature and has therefore been ruled as a 2/2.

If the card would interact with just about anything though it flips face up and becomes the actual card almost like Yugioh.

This card could be gnarly with {Phyrexian Dreadnought}.
