Oh sorry. {Counterspell} is my answer. It has just been such a staple of control decks from the beginning and continues to see play in legacy to this date. Just such a great card that has done great things for this game.

Ahh! Difficult questions coming from the fine folk of iMtG today! If I were to choose one single card, I think I'd have to go with......
{Emrakul, the Aeons Torn}.
I really love {Vampire Nocturnus}, but I've had Emrakul for a long time and he's never left a deck. Always been in a deck and always been one of the most fun and interesting cards to drop. Just watching my opponent's hope of winning drop as I tap for 15 mana is a great feeling :P
I know {Bloodlord of Vaasgoth} sucks but I love it and trade for every one I find because its the first mythic I ever got

He's too slow, really. You can use {Dark Ritual} to get to him a bit faster, but I'd rather just drop a {Vampire Nocturnus} for an immediate board boost.
I have to say {birds of paradise}. We've been through thick and thin. Green was what i started with. But who likes to be limited to just one colour. Not me. Answer? Birds.

{Diregraf Captain} is the card that got me into Magic, will forever have love for him. :)

{Time Sieve} is probably my favorite card in the game. Do not ask me why. The card is terrible. But I just love the card so much. I have built so many decks around it that I cannot even remember how many different iterations of the deck I have played.
Hmmm it's a tough one... I would have to say it's a tie between {Dakkon Blackblade}, {Hypnox}, and {Treva, the Renewer}. I honestly couldn't say why other than nostalgia. Brings back memories when I was first getting into MtG with my cousin.
The best card in the world: {The Cheese Stands Alone}.

However a kid in my school strongly believes his {Master of Cruelties} and {Ral Zarek} are the best when they can easily be countered by remove permanents -.-

AND they can't be regenerated.
But you can't regenerate a card with 0 toughness either.
Also damnation won't stop indestructible creatures. -1/-1's will.

It's pretty cool how the art is similar though.
Standard legal, not easily splashable. The other two only need two black, not just swamps
My favorite card is {Flock of Rabid Sheep} because I grew up on a sheep farm. However since that is what I posted on the favorite creature thread, my second favorite card is {Bountiful Harvest}.
{Phytohydra}, my deck based around him was my first "good" deck. I think i have had it for a year and a half now. Last time i picked it up must have been last year. I am warming up to {paradise mantle} these days.

{Worldfire} and {Supreme Verdict} are like that, but Worldfire is very extreme.
{Restoration Angel} is probably my favorite card along with all the enter the battlefield triggers on others it couples with.

1. {The Mimeoplasm} - you can just do torn down broken thinks with this guy. He is amazing as my commander!!
And i just feel like listing the rest so here
2. {Kokusho, The Evening Star} - this guy is just awesome in edh and can destroy people!!
3. {Kozilek, Butcher of Truth} - This guys is rediculous!!! 10 mana for a 12/12 that gives you 4 cards. Just insane!!
4. {Voice of Resurgence} - he is a beast in many decks. He has such a fast paced tempo that control decks cant keep up an no matter what you are getting a creature to stick.
5. {Ral Zarek} - me an him are like eachother. In my heart (Cheezy) i am pure izzet. I like ral as a pw and his card is just awesome to play. It is fun and just seems like a crazy, casual pw.

I'm still kinda new to magic but my favorite enchantment may be {Akroma's Memorial}. Only thing bad about Akroma is the cost.
I'm not for sure about my favorite creature but {Invisible Stalker} seems to work out okay when I need it to.

And well. {Lyev Skyknight} coupled with {Ethereal Armor} and {Trepanation Blade} or put these on {Invisible Stalker} and he's pretty unstoppable I had this combo on an ascended Lawmage along with {Righteous Authority} and I swung for around 9-15 each turn ^-^ hexproof <3

I actually run a few {Ascended Lawmage}.
They're really a great card. Low enough cost. Plus the fact it's flying AND hexproof. Just. Mmmmmmm c;
