I use Omnath, locus of mana as my commander. Is it a legal play to sac. My Omnath to Feed the pack at my end step for say 70 2/2 wolf tokens n then put my Omnath back into the command zone to be played next turn?

Sure! Any time a Commander would go to the gy from the Battlefield, you can put him in the command zone.
Could you not just save some mana and put him straight back out?

As long as its still the same step and phase, the mana would all still be there.

I try as well. My group has members that have been playing since pre-Ice Ages (and I don't mean Coldsnap). Hell, I'm just happy we're not playing pre-6th Ed. Rules. 😒
Apparently we allow proxy-type cards, but we try to enforce Vintage bannings.

Only problem I see with this is that {Feed the Pack} activates its sacrifice at the end step, so playing a creature without flash like {Omnath, Locus of Mana} after the end step trigger resolves but before end of turn might be tricky.
Of course even if you can't find a way in mono-green to do that, the hilarity of sacrificing your commander for 70 wolves is solid on its own.

Yes! Nice pickup. Just need to figure out how to get it back to your hand as an instant and you can play it via {quicksilver amulet}
