Title: Summer movies?
Post by: Vyse on May 10, 2013, 02:23:08 AM
Enders game for me, but I know it'll be butchered. Hey a man can dream right? And on the off chance it does succeed think of the rest of the delicious series.. Yum haha
Edit: annnnnd my foot goes in my mouth, Enders game comes out in November -.- but please discuss summer movies haha (such as pacific rim)

Man of Steel had no continuity.

Star Trek was excellent.

After Earth was not too bad, I enjoyed it. Old school teenage SF. A bit annoying, but bearable.

I'm seeing Superman tomorrow, and I'll probably watch the Brad Pitt zombie movie, unless someone talks me out of it.

Read the book first. That would be so much better, then watch the zombie movie

Not enough free time for the book, I'm afraid. I still haven't finished the Hyperion saga.

If you do see World War Z, do let me know it is. I read the book, and I'm baffled - I don't understand how a book with that unique type of story structure (essentially a collection of short stories that, spread out, give a detailed overlook of the 'War') can possibly be made into a movie. I could see maybe a story or two within the larger narrative being movies, but the whole war? I don't see how it's possible.

Good book btw. If you like zombie culture, it's a fascinating read. An incredibly realistic book about how the world would react and respond. Max Brooks clearly put a lot of thought into things.

Man of Steel had no continuity.

True, but that was a good thing. Very enjoyable movie, not as good as Star Trek though.

Also, Iron Man was a flop for me.

I liked iron man, but not as an end to the series.
