Post by: Destore117 on May 09, 2013, 07:30:06 PM
Another noob question.
So I use  {Orzhov Guildgate}
Everytime I use it I can choose which mana to use it for right?

Yes, you get to choose what color it taps for.

That's why  {Godless Shrine} is sought for a lot. Thanks guys.
Also. Is Sorin Markov a good trade for Godless Shrine?
I run a black white deck and well. I want a planes walker but I can't decide between  {Elspeth, Knight-Errant}
{Sorin Markov}
{Liliana Vess}
{Ajani, Caller of the Pride}

A) Yes that was a good trade.

B) You know you can have more than 1 Planeswalker in a deck right? If you only want to use one, then I like Elspeth the most.

Yes I'm aware but due to being unable to find a job (15 and no vehicle or temps lol.) I have no decent source of income. But my next buy will probably be Elspeth. Because if you get that emblem. If they don't have Karn Liberated. It. Is. Over <3

Any time I actually have seen planes walkers used. For whatever reason. They never get attacked. I don't understand the kids I play with...oh and my friend has Karn Liberated lol so what do I do for that? >.>

Any number of removal spells, wrath effects, or counterspells should do the trick. If all else fails, just attack it.

I have never played against her or seen her deck used so I guess that will be quite the experience. Especially if she .loving. restarts the game. Lol. But hopefully I can deal with it before that time. If not then I seriously need better cards.

Possibly the best advice I can give you: learn the stack, and learn it well. It is the singular object in which all spells must pass through. If you can learn how to manipulate it to your advantage, you'll be a step or two ahead of most opponents.

I know the stack (I think thanks to you :p ) anyways when I ask kids about it at school they have a blank stare and have no idea what the stack is.

Might as well make it public to help everyone.

DG's mini article- How to save cash on MTG

1) Learn to forecast (I cannot stress enough how important this is if you are on a budget)
2) Never trade down on cards unless you know the card will tank or it is in your favor
3) Singles are always cheaper than boxes
4) Learn when to invest in a box
5) Drop cards that will tank in Standard before rotation
6) Learn from any mistakes you make in selling/trading cards

If you have not done so already, I write articles involving magic theory. They are designed to improve play for those aspiring to get better. Check those out if you have the time. You may be able to learn something that will help you improve or give you an edge.

Well! I don't think this was a mistake. But I bought "Orzhov's Oppression" the gate crash extort deck shortly after dragons maze came out. I just didn't prefer the dragons maze deck.

My favorite piece of advice: cockatrice. I cannot stress how much $$ this has saved me. It is invaluable for a resource. Also, invest your time in learning how to build decks(read your heart out) before investing into deck building. This will save you the stress of buying decks you are not happy with. Its frustrating doing little but reading all the time, but it goes a log way if you build a deck as you read and use the tips you read actively. In the end youll spend less and get more.

This question is simply for fun but has anyone noticed that Sorin has a remarkable resemblance to Kane from the "Legacy of Kane" series
