Title: Blood rush

Can bloodrush be played as an instant, after blockers have been declared?

That's how I've always played it.

Yes, your creature will remain attacking for the rest of combat, through damage step which meets the conditions of bloodrush. Since bloodrush is an activated ability it may be used at instant speed, and times you may activate instant speed effects include when you have priority at the end of the 'declare attackers' and 'declare blockers' steps

It should be noted that bloodrush can only be played on attacking creatures. This means during combat after attackers have been declared. It has to happen at instant speed (can't cast sorceries).

This statement confused me a little.  Are you saying that bloodrush has to be declared at the end of "declare attack" phase before the "declare block" phase occurs?

No, but it has to be used while the creature is considered "attacking."  A creature is considered attacking once it has been declared an attacker, and remains so until the combat phase ends (after damage is dealt). So any time that you have priority between there you can potentially activate bloodrush.

There are a few exceptions. I forget there names, but there are some creatures that can de-declare themselves as attackers once blocked. Also, if the creature is removed, its no longer attacking
