At the top of each of the sections in this forum are a list of Banned and Restricted cards for each format. If you read it, it will also describe the format and provide a link to the official lists. Check'em out!

Standard play is the most common format.

I try to follow vintage rules for casual decks.  A deck with 4 {tinker} and a {blightsteel collossus} is just no fun.....I may or may not know that from building an obscene deck like that.  I may or may not save that deck for those who do not follow the vintage rules and build some other obscene monstrosity :) What about you guys.....what do you follow for casual builds?

That would absolutely stupid lol.
I use standard rules but there really are no rules in my play group. That's why I get even more happy when my standard decks smash on their illegal decks lol

Fun fact: To some players pulling a mox was dissappointing because you could only run one and it went for super cheap. guy that told me this had a playset of black loti(is that the plural?) at one point and sold a time walk for $2.

That's got to suck, I mean, when I started playing M:tG, of course I made some trades that in retrospect, were horrible. But could you imagine playing back then?!? I'm sure that many Vintage players think about what they let go, for what they let it go, and begin weeping. Personally, I would probably have nightmares about my Black Loti (sounds fancy) and Moxes simply floating out of reach.

No, all cards legal in Standard are also legal in Modern (although there might be cards banned in modern that appear in Standard. I'd have to check. )
