Sweet thx
Can ANYONE explain why this merited a neg karma? Someone plz do tell because this karma .poo. is really starting to get to me. Random people hitting me for random -1's on just about everything.
Don't worry about it. Make helpful comments and your karma will go up over time.
It took me 1.3k posts to get 30 karma, do not fret!

I gave you negative because the answer to your question, is in the stickied post right above "using iMTG forums".
Stickied threads are stickied for a reason
I also gave you negative karma. You could easily just use the search button and look for "desktop forum" or ask in Chat Room rather than starting a whole new thread.
Forum etiquette rule #1: search; do not post new topics when you can literally go back 3 pages in each sub forum and find most topics from the last six months. 3 pages is all it takes
Im waiting for an android app......
Well all of your douchebaggery is fine, there isnt a sticky that i could find that had a link. If you ping someone for asking a question, then you are completely missing the point of karma.
I don't even look at karma until someone says something. It has become completely insignificant. Giving negative karma for asking a question is pretty petty. (Now let's see how fast my karma drops.)
Aaaand here we go again

People have way too big a hard-on for giving people karma, both positive and negative. It actually is kind of annoying.
Interesting wording, but absolutely. People need to realize that karma isn't such a huge deal. If you want good karma, stop worrying about it and do your best to be a positive, contributing member of the community.
I'll use the mods as an example, since we have above average karma. How many times have you seen a mod complain about their karma, or even ask why they got it? We do our best to help people out, express our opinions (respectfully) and throw some humor in the mix. I've never posted something because I thought "Man, I could net some karma for this!" It's moreso been "I could help this guy out" or "Yeah, I have a decent opinion on this."
I think when people get negative karma, they shouldn't really post about it. People will usually ding you for that, so if you're looking for karma, keep that in mind. I think instead, people should ask themselves, "Why did they dislike this? Alright, I suppose people don't like this. I'll try and keep away from comments like this." Now, there are exceptions, but in general, my statements stand.
I think Karma is like you clean your room without your mom asking you, and she gives you a cookie. No one else really cares you got a cookie, but you care, so you keep doing things in order to get more cookies. She takes away a cookie because maybe you didn't do something she asked you to do, which makes you feel slightly hurt, but that makes you strive for more cookies.

Hah! I like that analogy. Unfortunately, being 35 and married with a daughter precludes any cookies for chores. My friends and I are firm believers in what we call wife points, though. If I do the dishes, tidy the house, and feed the progeny some applesauce, I find that my wife is much more likely to buy me a few packs of cards or encourage me to go have a burger with the guys. It's like our own household karma system!

Says the guy with 128+, karma may not bother some people, but it bothers me. I asked a question that wasnt answered in stickies, dudecore answered it. Should be end of story, but no, people that have nothing to do with the thread downvote me based on false information. Karma should be taken out entirely if it's so insignificant to you all.

One small advice, based on observing behaviour here... If you got upset because of negative karma and you will try to make a fuss about that it will get only worse...:) There is no point in making any fuss about that...
Anyway even though I think that downgrading your karma because of double-post is a little too hard... I get the reasons of those who did... If it would be thread in totaly different subforum, but you double-posted thread that was stickied above your own post... And simply few people punished your laziness... Take it as a lection and try to be aware of those small things...;)

Really? Couldn't find it in a stickied thread?

Whining about negative karma is not going to win you any positive karma, just saying.
Also, I've come to notice that karma is mostly irrelevant. If people could stop complaining about karma, that'd be grrrrrreat.

If you could never comment on my posts ever again, that'd be grrrrreat. Dont be a douche for no reason. If i care about how random people reflect on my personal score, that's my own thing; so get off my thread if you have nothing worthwhile to say.
This was resolved a while ago and people are still bitching at me about a sticky that doesnt exist. It's a comment deep within a sticky by blackjester which i missed when reading the original posts of each sticky.

You know, I usually don't get involved with this type of stuff... But this is a public forum. If you make a post someone can comment on it if they want to. You have no right to tell someone they can't say something even if it's on a thread you created... Hence public forum. What's with how you feel the need to voice your opinion yet anyone who disagrees with you can't? You say people ping your karma for no reason? Look at what you just posted and tell me that doesn't look bad.
And if it was resolved then why do you feel the need to drag this on? If people want to ping your karma they can. Yes it may be childish sometimes, but it's their right to do so. Who are you (besides being someone with an opinion) to tell them they can't?

Let it be known that henceforth, the word "deep" shall mean 5 posts down in any and all threads! Take to the streets my good people! Let this revelation been told!

Hey man, it was nothing personal against you. It's irritating to see a new post pop up every week with someone complaining about down votes. If someone doesn't want down votes, then they can reflect on the comments they recieve negative karma on and figure out what they said that could have been phrased differently to avoid the 👎. Like I said, whining will only earn you more bad karma. I feel that letting you know that was worthwhile.
As far as never commenting on your threads again, seeing as how it was nothing personal I probably won't remember who you are. In fact, as I am typing this I have already forgotten which user thinks I'm a douche.
Anyway, sorry to have offended you it wasn't really my intention.
✌
I've come to realize karma is simply there as a way to weed out immature people. I had no idea why the system was in place, but every few months someone rolls around who is generally immature, and after building negative karma they almost always say something. Now it's at this point they either realize karma means nothing, and they contribute to the forum, or continue their downward spiral and sometimes quit the forum. Now, question is which path will you take? I wish the best.

This right here, is great. I don't think I could have said it any better myself.
Apparently my high karma means I can't try and give you tips about karma, but I'll go ahead and throw this one your way: Don't react so strongly to things that hardly matter. When someone says something to try and help you out (as Moneekahh did) and you react with a snide remark and get angry, nobody is going to give you positive karma for it. Overreactions are not rewarded.
I'd try and help more, but you don't seem to want to listen to me. I hope you can get over this karma thing, and work your way towards a better reputation.
