Do tokens hit the graveyard when they die or do they exile because they are not a creature. Thanks.

They activate "are sent to the graveyard" abilities but dont actually end up in the graveyard

Tokens are one of the the two reason MaRo has said the new terminology "dies" in place of "... goes to the graveyard" was introduced, because really never go to the graveyard.

There is much debate online as to whether they are there for a second, two, a millisecond, but for the purpose of the rulings, it's easier to say they are never actually there.

So I could not exile it to cast a spell then?

From the graveyard? I don't think so because they are removed from the game as a state based action once they change zones.

Correct.

So as an example, you cannot cast {Skaab Ruinator} using tokens. Nor can you cast {Shattered Crypt} using tokens.
