The target gets +3/-3 and loses any creature types it has. For example, if it were a "Creature - Goblin Shaman" it would simply be a "Creature" until the end of the turn. The card itself is considered all creature types, for effects that go off "when you cast an elf spell" or similar abilities. Make sense?
