Edit: you do not want to get stucked with 2 Liches in hand....:)

This deck relies on him too much not to run 4. If I get stuck with an extra as the only card in hand, then I'll be using my mana for Lingering Souls flashback or Jarad's ability instead.

If it works for you then ok...

I play him in jund as a 3 off and draw him too often...;)
