Title: MTG and D&D
Post by: SpiritedAway on February 22, 2012, 02:56:31 PM
Does anybody know of any Magic variants for Dungeons and Dragons? If there are any quests by amateurs or even professional books or anything? ANYTHING!?

Never played D&D, happy I haven't. I LOVE RPG's and Magic and read crap-loads of fantasy novels, I think it would suck me in XD

That's probably true. It's amazing. It's basically the roots of most any RPG ever and it has aged very well and is still a unique experience.

I used to play 2nd Ed.  Dark Sun was my fave, but never got to do any campaigns in it. 😢

I played 2nd too, a bit of custom worlds and Forgotten Realms. I had Greyhawk too but never actually played it.

There was a discussion on this very topic on twitter recently, I think #mtgdnd it was.

I have always said the same thing......I never had the opportunity but I love RPGs and am sure I would get sucked into D&D.  I think I am enough of a dork.....wife proly could not handle too much more lol.  Anyone else have a wife or GF that despises MtG?  I tried to turn her to the darkside and teach her but she will have none of it.

Had one seriously epic homebrew adventure.  The Dungeon Master (DM) decided to make it more story driven and less "dice driven".  He started with a basic idea of where to take it, be it kept growing and evolving.  The campaign took over a year, but it was a blast!  So much ludicrosity!

My GF told me should would try to learn Magic if I try to teach her. But I doubt she'll actually go through with it :( what would be better than a pretty girl who plays Magic!?

My girlfriend may not be the best at Magic, but I know for a fact that her looks alone have caused her opponents to commit some misplays 
