Post some ideas that you thought were revolutionary.. Before realizing how absolutely awful they were. For example: my eyes lit up as i began to design... A sorcery speed counter spell!
a card that costs 10 colorless energy that ends the game as a tie for all players, as an instant XD
Likeminded genius!
like you are in a four person multiplayer game and everyone else has 10+ hp and you only have like 2 but you have a ton of mana... BOOM 4-way tie! call it involuntary peace treaty or something XD
Haha itd be the most popular deck ever
0% losses
0% wins
100% ties
Its a {door to nothingness} deck but 10x easier to pull of lol. I can just imagine modern 'Urzatron Tie-machine' dominating everything
Someone asked Mark Rosewater about a sorcery speed counterspell, to which he appropriately replied "you could never cast it." It's pretty funny when you think about it.
I once had an idea for a faux Ramp deck that didn't ramp into anything - just made the opponent conserve resources waiting to answer what would never come. It tested it out, turns out things don't work like that.
Haha like tron affinity? Its revolutionary
You know, they could make a sorcery speed counter spell meant for modern, make it 1-2 CMC and give it some outrageous upside and then see how many people connect it with {Alchemist's Refuge}.

Wouldn't it just be a 4 mana counterspell then? {G}{U} to activate it, {T} on the Refuge and {1} for the spell? If it had a {Rewind} effect, that could work.
Or even make it cost 0 and say "counter target spell, draw cards equal to its converted mana cost"
I still like my idea of a card that just ends the game XD
{Karn Liberated} closest thing yet
I'll admit, {Karn} looks alot cooler when he is liberated
lol I guess normal Karn isn't a card, but in the digital magic world, he is a planeswalker
I think if your card was made it would have to be Karn's picnic, I just want to see a happy karn

The original is {karn, silver golem} :)
yes, but there is no card that is just Karn, with no metal suit, or actually without a head or chest piece, but you can play against him in Magic the Gathering 2012, his deck is called Strength of Stone if I remember correctly
That's not a guy in armor, that is Karn haha
I know but they have the same name urgh so confusing... so there is silver golem karn and the planeswalker Karn are 2 different guys? X( so confused now...
Same person, {Karn, Silver Golem} was a creation of Urza' and {Karn Liberated} was after he stole a spark, created his own plane, got trapped in it's core by the black oil and was released thanks to {Venser, the Sojourner}
You could make a sorcery speed counter! Challenge freaking ACCEPTED
Patient Authority {1}{W}{U}
Sorcery
Exile patient authority and place a time counter on it.
Whenever a player casts a spell, remove a time counter from Patient Authority. When you remove the last time counter from Patient Authority counter target spell.
This could work with that whole suspend mechanic. It's basically a cross between {stasis}, {counterflux}, {seal of fire}, and suspend.
An alternate approach with a similar concept is:
Mana Corruption {B}{U}{U}
Sorcery
Exile Mana Corruption with a Corruption counter on it.
During your upkeep if Mana Corruption is in exile with a corruption counter you lose 2 life.
Whenever an opponent casts a spell, if Mana Corruption is in exile with a corruption counter, remove a corruption counter and counter that spell.
So these can not be proliferated since they are in exile, they also cant be countered by other counterspells. However your opponent decides what gets countered.
so it is the same guy, but I'm talking about Karn liberated, who is a silver golem, correct? but in Magic the Gathering 2012 he has flesh? what gives?

I dont think you're thinking about Karn.
;D
Edit: {Koth of the Hammer}?
*FacePalm*
yes that's him...
now you know why I'm in the un-genious section ._.
This is the worst card I ever came up with
{G}{G}{1}
Cycle the refuse
Switch your graveyard and library. Then, shuffle your library

{mimeoplasm}. That would be great! Just make sure you have a library after, or no one has a {Bojuka Bog} in hand.
Oh...maybe it should cost {G}{G}{B}{B} than?
Nah.
Its more green.
But probably rare though!
And definitly sorcery

This kinda works:
Vow of Scilence {3}{U}{U}
Sorcery
Counter all spells of the chosen color and blue untill the end of your next turn. Whenever a spell is countered this way, its controller may draw a card.
So you can use it too shut down your oponents untill their next turn, and/or you can use it to get dead cards out of your hand if you have mana.
If we want a sorcery speed counter spell, why not just run it in a deck with {Vedalken Orrery}?

3cmc makes it a bomb utility card.
4 makes it rather unconventional.
Or possibly {3}{G}?
More splashable makes it more attractive.

what about 3 CMC with a minor drawback?
Or maybe {G}{G}{2} with a drawback?
Because it might be broken I've realized
how about a deck with that card and four {treasured find}s? then you can dig through your graveyard for anything that you might have needed ;)
doesn't go with the big graveyard = big power strategy as well, but If you needed a card for a combo or something, and it was in your library, you can fish out the exact card you need ;)

and my suspicion is confirmed. So ill put it at {G}{G}{B}{B}{1}
prolly should be 2 green and2 black I think, just my opinion
also, would you exile this card after you use it? or will you place it in your graveyard? btw if it was green and blue, at the beginning of the game, you could rape if you used {Laboratory Maniac}

Ok here's one 3{B}{B}{R}{R} exile all non land permanents and all graveyards. Then search each players library and hand for any card that shares a name with an exiled card, exile those cards. Then each player shuffles their library and reveals cards until they reveal a non land card and cast it.

this one doesnt seem un-genius. It's actually a turn around card. And if I ran those colors I'd actualy use it

This was my attempt at the draw game idea. If you have three oblivion rings on the battlefield with no other legal targets they will infinitely target each other with no way to stop it. See this video:

Make it like the eldrazi card and have the o-rings come from anywhere outside of the game.
Like {Spawnsire of Ulamog}?
