Title: Finace for rotation
Post by: Bman0121 on April 22, 2013, 08:28:31 AM
These are some rares and mythics you might want to pick up and sit on till rotation
{Master Biomancer}
{Duskmantle Seer}
{Obzedat, Ghost Council}
{Advent of the Wurm}
{Obzedat's Aid}
{Legion's Initiative}
{Varolz, the Scar-Striped}
{Voice of Resurgence}
{Trostani, Selesnya's Voice}
{Deathrite Shaman}
{Blind Obedience}
{Legion Loyalist}
{Gyre Sage}
{Aurelia, the Warleader}
{Aurelia's Fury}
{Domri Rade}
{Jace, Architect of Thought}
{Boros Reckoner}
{Precinct Captain}
{Cyclonic Rift}
{Ash Zealot}
{Mizzium Mortars}
{Abrupt Decay}
{Armada Wurm}
{Detention Sphere}
{Dreadbore}
{Lotleth Troll}
{Sphinx's Revelation}
I am very confidant that after Innistrad block rotates out these cards will see a higher price picking up the cheaper ones that are already lower than 10 dollars you cannot lose money on because as long as they are in standard they will be that price or higher

I like that you're calling {Sphinx's Revelation} cheap.

Not cheap but its not going down and it might go up after rotation

I'll hold in to my foil when then.

Why not {Rakdos's Return}? Or anything that puts things in the grave? Without  {Snapcaster Mage} or  {Unburial Rites} the graveyard isn't as menacing as it used to be. Discard and mill are going to be pretty big IMO.

Hmmm, I wonder if we'll see a {Loxodon Smiter} price increase post-rotation due to this.

I predict  {Loxodon Smiter} and  {Lotleth Troll} will both see a bump in price.

I think  {Lotleth Troll} and  {Trostani, Selesnya's Voice} will see an significant price change both are very powerful

Advent of the wurm is a terrible card
After  {Restoration Angel} rotates it will see a ton of play

Advent is great! You get a 5/5 trample flash for 4, seems great.

 {Advent of the Wurm}

 {Wake the Reflections} is a card too... 5 mana for 2 5/5 wurms with trample seems good.

Advent make me think mainboard {dispell} or a reprint of {spell pierce} is coming.

Ummm. Are you sure about this list? I mean your missing key cards. And graveyard eill be valuable after rotation because there is a card somewhat like unburial rites but a little better ( {Obzedat's Aid}) and your missing cards like rakdos return, and others.

I think most of the cards on the list will probably go down, especially {Sphinx's Revelation}.  Also, if someone could explain how {Advent of the Wurm} is "terrible," please do.  Is it the most amazing card ever?  Probably not, we play in a format that has a lot of bounce, so tokens are always going to be a bit weaker than actual creature cards, but there's pretty much no way to call the card terrible.  I guess, though, that everyone is entitled to their own opinion.  Yay, pre-release this weekend!
its not terrible. People just haven't realized it gives them a huge fat token they can populate yet

Lol  {Unburial Rites} is a million times better than  {Obzedat's Aid} name 1 situation where  {Obzedat's Aid} is better than  {Unburial Rites} and I will tell you how its not.

The only thing {Obzedat's Aid} is better then {Unburial Rites} at is that it gets a permenat from your graveyard. Which could be a plainswalker, but with that said everything else makes it worse then {Unburial Rites}. Rites is easier to splash into decks and is reusable.

That's why no body plays  {Rise from the Grave} it dosnt have flash back so you can't get a turn 3 reanimate

Plus the dream of  {Obzedat's Aid} on  {Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker} is farfetched because you either had him in play already and should have won or milled him and you probably milled  {Obzedat's Aid} as well

That's why they call it "Magical Christmas Land", because that's only where something like that can happen.

{Growing Ranks} + {Advent of the Wurm}
{Advent of the Wurm} + {Rootborn Defenses}
Unfortunately the two best mana dorks in standard at the momet, are rotating soon. I'd say if they weren't, Advent's price would be higher. I personally made a small investment, as I believe the price will rise, I'm thinking at least by half. I pre ordered 8 at 2.99 each. It's already at about 4.50, I think it could go to 6,7, even 8. Higher if Selesnya mid range is played "on camera" so to speak. Can't see it going any higher than 8, and that'll be for a week at the peak.
But can't complain about a 5/5 flash trampler for 4 anyway ya look at it.

Aid is goin to be a million times better then rites next September when your Playing standard and rites has rotated out. 😉
