I am looking to build a Modern deck and am wondering what the most annoying deck in existence is. (the deck must also be somewhat consistent)
Eggs
Eggs. It's turns take so long, that it's very frustrating to play against. Very, very frustrating.
The deck summed up in activated ability terms:
Stack a billion triggers for 15 minutes: target opponent has no fun for an hour.

What? I like playing against Eggs lol but I guess I'll try to build it.
What is this eggs deck you are speaking of??
It's a combo deck that uses {second sunrise} as its win condition
Speaking of which they banned {second sunrise}, so there's that...
Well now that eggs is dead. (Which I thought I'd be happier about), I'd say affinity is the most annoying deck. Turn 1 drop {Darksteel Citadel}, {Ornithopter}, {Memnite}, {Mox Opal}, {Vault Skirge}, etc. Turn 2, drop a {Cranial Plating}, play {Thoughtcast}, drop more little guys, etc. Even if you put up a great defense against this, you'll usually die to {Shrapnel Blast}. It's fast and quite rude.
it wouldn't be incredibly hard to counter shrapnel blast with the correct deck, but the artifact creatures and thoughtcast seems a little overwhelming
I have to agree. Affinity is very irritating to play against. Most annoying deck varies based one what you're playing, however. If I'm control, I hate going against infect or affinity. If I'm aggro, I hate going against {Painter's Servant}-esque combo decks. If I'm midrange, combo is an annoying near-unwinnable matchup as well (with a few exceptions.)

i heard {yeva, natures herald} is anti-control. So combo her with {painters servant} would that be anti-control-aggro?
Kiki combo i find annoying, but it does take skill I can respect to make it perform consistantly.
I know my Modern Mist deck is annoying for lots of decks since {rest in peace} shuts off lots of decks and as they scramble a new strategy man lands and {luminarch ascension} beat them down.
Auras could be in here because you have to answer a hexproof dude quick or stop the combat damage. Same goes for infect (but usually not as much hexproof).
Aside from that I think most of modern requires enough skill to shut your opponent down consistantly that if you do get annoyed at a deck it's likely do to playing against a great player. Ive learned to accept a loss from a better player as a gift of experience.
omg if you look at my deck, anyone with rest in peace could singlehandedly screw me over completely...
it's a scavenge deck, so maybe not as bad as a reanimator deck, but you would still jack up my treasured find that I like to use after my grisly salvage so I can get two cards instead and one can be a spell •3•
