Esper Rites 60 cards, 0 sideboard 2 {Underground River} 4 {Caves of Koilos} 4 {Watery Grave} 5 {Island} 5 {Swamp} 20 lands 2 {Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind} 2 {Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur} 2 {Griselbrand} 6 creatures 2 {Reanimate} 3 {Unburial Rites} 4 {Counterspell} 4 {Animate Dead} 4 {Ponder} 4 {Curiosity} 3 {Brainstorm} 3 {Dark Ritual} 3 {Careful Study} 4 {Buried Alive} 34 other spells Sideboard Notes: Trying something different with his build. Niv-Mizzet syngerizes with Jin-Gitaxias and Griselbrand really well, as well as with the cheap draw spells. Niv is my first reanimate target, and if I don't slap {curiosity} on him ASAP, Grisel and Jin can end it in one turn with 21 damage, provided I haven't lost too much life at that point.

I so wish {reanimate} would be reprinted in standard, otherwise, sweet build!

Thank you! Yeah me too. But unfortunately the era of cheap but powerful cards is on its last leg. Im surprised {deathrite shaman} is a one drop.

This deck might have trouble against agro builds.  I wonder if you used guys like {merfolk looter} instead of {careful study}.  That way you could have some chump blockers if needed.

I actually was thinking the same thing. Im going to try out {lingering souls} since I have the lands for it, and can be used as discard fodder yet can still be useful in the graveyard.
