Title: How does your lgs do guild packs?
Post by: Wackaman9001 on April 14, 2013, 11:37:18 AM
My lgs hands each player a random pack then gives us a few minutes to trade around. How is it done by you?

when you preregister you choose your guild.  If you wait until the day of, then you choose from what is left over.

Same for mine.

I was out of town visiting a few friends for the RTR prerelease so I went somewhere different for that one. They had a lottery system there, where they picked player's names at random who came up and picked a guild.

Pheonix Fire sets out 2-3 of each and then has everyone line up and pick one from whats there and then starts over when those are all taken. Meaning if you are the 10th in line with 2 of each out youre SOL. However they allow a trading time incase you got stuck with one you dont want and want to swap with someone who wants yours.

ABU give you a little peice of paper with the guild symbol on it when you buy in and then sits everyone down and trades the guild pack with the corresponding piece of paper. They dont care if you trade paper prior to the packs being handed out.

There's a sign up sheet with your top 3 guild preferences.  They try to get you the one you want. The earlier you sign in the more likely you are to snag your desired guild.

My LGS has soo many left over after the prelease
When you get the to store you choose the guild you want and when it's about to start they hand each person the box for the guild they choose
Last time through choose your guild and the when it was about to start the called each person up and let you choose your guild you wanted invade you changed your mind from original choice

That is exactly how to not play sealed you are not supposed to trade your cards from your pack during the tournament at all. I had the unfortunate group of noobs hit up marion gametraders for GTC pre-release and they traded half their .loving. cards to perfect their decks color. I came forth not having traded at all and if those retards didnt trade i would have been up a  {Gideon, Champion of Justice}. It really is bs when the lgs knows .love. all about rules or is just lazy and doesnt bother to mention them.

Edit: Not quite sure i comprehended what you meant when i posted this. I thought you meant trade cards around after you open your pack.
