Title: Hex proof abilities

If a creature has hex proof is it protected from say first strike or death touch?

I'm afraid not. It is only protected from things that target. If it doesn't say "target" on the card, it doesn't target. Simple as that!

Also, if you check the "Rules Q&A and FAQ" stickied above, I did a Frequently Asked Questions section at the bottom, that explains targeting, and shroud/hexproof and how they all tie together.
