Normally top 2 get promos, some stores give you packs If you win, and some give it to top 8 depends wear you go:)
How many points per win?
3 points for a match win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss.
If there are 16 or fewer people, there are 4 matches. 17-32 is 5 matches. 33-56(I think?) is 6 matches, and up to 72 is 7 matches.
Each match is best 2-of-3 games.
You will paired randomly against your 1st opponent, and each opponent after that you will be paired randomly against someone with the same amount of points as yourself (winners face other winners, etc). This is called Swiss-style tournament brackets.
At the end, prizes depend on your LGS. Top 2 usually get a promo that changes every month - March was {Farseek}. I forget what April's is, but I remember it being good. Prize booster packs are usually given to the top 8-16, depending on how your store does things. Some places give out store credit instead.

My local games store is lovely when it comes to prizes!!! Everyone gets a booster for entering, then depending on how many turn up the top half of player if that evening get more boosters, and promo goes to first, second and last place, also one goes to random person who has not got I've that evening!!
