How many of you are playing/played pokèmon? Several people at my lgs played before they started mtg. I did.

I started with Yu Gi Oh in '02 freshman year of high school. Quickly transitioned into Magic not long after that. STILL beating myself up for not keeping my cards when I took a break from it around the first Mirrodin.

Aren't there unbeatable decks in YuGiOh? Like decks that just play themselves on 1st turn and win? Someone at LGS shows me, and I couldn't understand how YuGiOh is a game...

I have no clue. I stopped playing after I picked up Magic. The fact that life goes by 1000's and damage is dealt in increments of 100's and 500 made my head hurt. Imagine the 1/2 mana/life from Unhinged but all the time. It got really confusing once I adopted the 20 point life system that Magic has.

Don't like Pokemon. And I had a warrior deck in yugioh. But lost interest because decks get out of date much faster than magic

I played Pokemon from Grade 3-6, Yu Gi Oh from 7- 10. After high school I lived with my ex and her family. Her little brother played Yu Gi Oh so I kinda got back into it and now I have a pretty nasty Red Eyes deck. Almost unbeatable. Then shortly after that time I got into Magic during the M12/ Innistrad period. I love all the card games. MtG just has the best R&D and artists. No tv show thankfully

That's why Magic is superior. Yugioh just has one format (at least it did when I played,) and Magic has many eternal formats, with turn one decks only in a couple. Magic wouldn't be as fun if every single format had turn one decks.
