Yay new frites! I feel like 4 unburial rites is necessary since its such a large part of the deck.

{lingering souls} cause well, it's the best cars in b/w.

Just too strong not to play.

I don't think having 11 reanimators is necessary.

And having 14 digging cards may be excessive as well, maybe trim them down for some removal/burn.

You may have defy death, however unburial rites is easier to cast (only one black mana). And you get two forthe price of one

Right but 2 +1/+1 counters can't help that much when he's reanimating 8 cmc angels on turn 5

I would sideboard for  {Grafdigger's Cage}, something to destroy it, there's tons of artifact hate now.

Updated a little with some of the sideboard. Any ideas on what to add?

Life gain is huge when it comes to reanimate. Helps slow down the aggro decks.  Another  {Centaur Healer} and maybe some  {Cathedral Sanctifier}. Also  {Jarad's Orders} is just bad. With  {Mulch},  {Grisly Salvage}, and  {Faithless Looting} you have too many dump effects. Is say 8/9 is the most you'll need. Hope that helps some.

I would take out the cathedral sanctified and run 2-3 abrupt decay

It answers so much right now.

You won't need the life :) the healers take care. And so do thragtusk. I still say just 1 more thrag but you'll get there after some play testing ;) also I like Aurelia for this deck..
Forgot about Aurelia. My mind is somewhere else today. I'd rather have her than serenity I think. She fits the deck more. Plus I don't have serenity :P

I understand the thought process behind {Defy Death}; however, I think Umbra is correct, and you should focus on {Unburial Rites} over other reanimator cards, and here's why:
1) As mentioned already, it's two for one, and has a less prohibitive casting cost;
2) These cards WILL end up in the graveyard no matter what, so in that regard {Defy Death} and {Rise from the Grave} will often be just dead cards, and;
3) Is a 10/10 Avacyn really that much more of a threat than an 8/8 Avacyn?

Looks cool though. Just make extra sure to protect Gisela from mind control shenanigans, otherwise you may find yourself dead out of nowhere.
Should keep the 1 of  {Defy Death} incase they  {Slaughter Games} your  {Unburial Rites}

I totally understand your reasoning, and maybe you guys are correct (I don't play reanimator much, so I'm not really savy on the archetype), but hear me out.  What is the utility of taking up a card slot with a one-of that will often have trouble finding your hand?  The five mana and 1-card slot may be better served by an additional creature card.  Instead of hoping you don't draw up your one {Defy Death} off of a {Grisly Salvage} or {Mulch}, you could just be hard casting {Thragtusk} or {Obzedat, Ghost Council}.  I'm not saying you should run those creatures specifically, but those are a couple of options.

Arguably, if you can do it, {Defy Death} on an {Avacyn, Angel of Hope} after your opponent thinks they're safe by taking out Rites is much more of a game changer than dropping Tusk, but you always have to remember to factor in consistency when considering what cards to play.  That's my opinion, but I think your best bet is to go playtest the crap out of the deck both ways and see which way you like better!
I can see where you are coming from as well. I can take the  {Defy Death} out and since I can't find  {Avacyn, Angel of Hope} I would have 2 open spots. Should I add more creatures to reanimate, such as  {Tyrant of Discord}? I also have 2  {Obzedat, Ghost Council}. Would he fit here?

Ok here is my two cents (if anyone cares lol). First off, I would take out  {Centaur Healer} all together. Next, if you want to keep  {Sigarda, Host of Herons} in the deck deck I would move her to side board for a control match up where they play  {Devour Flesh} and so on. Next I would add some combination of the mana dorks ( {Avacyn's Pilgrim},  {Arbor Elf}). This will allow you to cast cards quicker and if your struggling against aggro you have cheap chump blockers to save your life total. Also I would highly suggest playing  {Farseek} if your not (can't remember if I saw it in your list or not sorry).  {Farseek} is going to help you fix any mana problems your having so you will be able to cast your creatures if you don't have an  {Unburial Rites} or your graveyard gets shut down. Anyway those are my suggestions. Good luck!
