Title: Scanning Tool
Post by: The1337Magician on March 25, 2013, 10:13:07 PM
Hey, I just recently got all the expansions and have been using them a lot. (Mostly the deck builder and folders). However I'm wondering what the scan tool is used for. Please don't -1 for this because I searched for it and I didn't find the answer I was looking for.

For adding cards without typing the name. Fit the name of the card in the scan box, focus it well with enough light and the minimum reflex possible, then scan it. The app should recognize the name and display the card to you. It gets easier after some training

It really depends on your device (better camera makes better scans), ambient lightining, focused lightining, and skills as a scanner. Doing it in my iPad 1 was pretty painful, because it was hard to hold it and the card. Maybe it is just the device you use, or rather you need to practice some more to find that sweet spot. And remember, it is NOT. The card art which counts, it it the card name it the appropriate box

Yeah I could do it pretty well with the iPhone 5 camera. The only one I had problems with was  {Sigil of the Nayan Gods}. I think that's mostly due to the really long name. I've had no problems. I ws just wondering what it was used for.

Just another way of adding cards to decks or binders. Or simply searching rules
