I just started playing magic and bought a sorjn vs tibalt dual deck. Any suggestions on where to next?
Are you for fun are competitive?
You could keep what you've got to hone your skills or you could buy a deck from Return to Ravnica or Gatecrash, the newest decks. There are ten decks. Each is a combination of two colors. They are all $15 and come with two boosters.
{B}{U} Dimir: Opponents discarding and such.
{B}{W} Orzhov: Gaining life and opponents losing life.
{B}{G} Golgari: Living out of your graveyard.
{B}{R} Rakdos: Killing things in general.
{U}{W} Azorius: Control over battlefield.
{U}{G} Simic: +1/+1 counters.
{U}{R} Izzet: Spells and counters.
{W}{G} Selesnya: Creature tokens and copies.
{W}{R} Boros: Control over attacking.
{G}{R} Gruul: Huge creatures and land.
So whatever you want to do.

Cool I would play with your duel decks a bit then buy a few packs or a theme deck and edit it. :D
Dimir is primarily about evasive techniques an secondary about mill this time around
I'm aware of this. He may not now what milling is.
Milling: having your opponents lose by having no cards in their library. Normally by either them drawing many cards or putting the top card of their library into the graveyard.

Deck builder's toolkit!! It's a great intro box with a bajillion basic lands and 4 packs to boot! It's a great thing to buy along with an intro deck of some sort to help you modify the deck and make it your own! :) Good luck! And welcome! :D
It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish and how much money you are looking to spend.
Is it just a hobby or do you want to start to get into the compatible side.
Do you make decks from what cards you have or do you look at decks and build similar ones.
Are you planning on playing at home with friends or doing FNM stuff

If you do this, wait till the M14 one (comes out this summer). The cards in the m13 won't be worth as much since they are rotating out of standard (which is a way of playing using only the most recent two blocks if you didn't know).

I would start with one color to get a feel, I started with white soldiers. You could too, it really helps as an intro, also get a fat pack to swap out some cards.
White is usually the best to play around with. It is the most straight forward color, and does things that newer players appreciate (like gaining life). Get Duels of the Planeswalkers - great beginners tool.
Soon you'll be in the deep end of the pool (blue) and enjoying yourself.
Or if white bores you(it bored me for a long time but now i love it) then try red burn. Its a straightforward playstyle where you use spells to directly damage your opponent basically.
I think DotP 2012 had that cool Gideon deck "Wielding Steel" with equipment. It had {Stoneforge Mystic}, {Kor Outfitter} and {Argentum Armor}.
I thought that was one of the better intro decks.

Always depends on the type of player you are. Some people swear by <this> color. I always played blue, and I play whatever deck has blue in it.
Never got into playing black, besides using it as a support color.
