Good on, mod.
I like ultra pro because they're at that sweet spot of affordable yet still durable.
Woooo dragonshield!!
RED DRAGONSHIELDS ON A SEN TRIPLETS DECK!!!
Well on the subject what's the best price you have found them at? And which kind
$2.00 for 50
I voted just so I could see the poll.
Channel Fireball has a sale. 5 boxes of Dragon's Shields for $39.99. Good deal for anyone sleeving a cube, or building lots of decks.

Silver dragonshields... All over everything. So soft and easy to shuffle with.

It used to be ultra pros because I had a bunch split so I wrote them a letter and they sent me a few free packs, but dragonshields are just so much better.
I won't go back.
How is it people break sleeves? I have been using Ultra Pro for many years and have only split like 3. For me, I always go with Ultra Pro. They are cheap, sturdy, matte, varied, and best of all the only sleeves my town ever has in stock (LGS doesn't really carry other brands).

Don't you side shuffle? I know tons of people that split sleeves all the time.
I side shuffle a few times, pile shuffle once, then side shuffle a few more times. I have broken around 3 sleeves the past 11-12 years. People always tell me how they break Ultra Pros. My only question is how hard are people shuffling?

I don't think I'm shuffling that hard, but it honestly only seems like there are bad batches. Sometimes I'll get packs where every other sleeve busts.
I also noticed that the newest red ultra pros are actually translucent and you can make out the backs of cards. This is especially bad with werewolf cards if you don't use the checkoff cards.
I've never had that kind of a problem with dragonshields.
I like Dragon Shields. I just do not like how they stick together after a while. I always roll with Matte Black Ultra Pro's for decks. You cannot see through them and they are sturdy (Occasionaly I will pick up the pink ones too. They are a tad see through, but solid and sturdy). For my EDH decks I always roll with White Matte Ultra Pro's. These are see through, but often enough can be bought in bulk. The only thing I do not like about these is they show dirt after a while.
I've had a really bad experience with a pack of white mana symbol Ultra Pros (they were splitting pretty much immediately; it was awful), but UP's been fine otherwise.
I recently got some Dragon Shields for my first EDH deck. They seem fine too. Nothing special.

Honestly, Dragonshields are overrated. Ultra Pro has mediocre quality with art back sleeves. Really the only good Ultra Pro Sleeves are the Matte and Pro Matte lines. I will admit that much. I had a set of the Mirrodin Besieged sleeves. The art was peeling after 2 rounds in a tourney. I do not shuffle that hard either.
I had 3 Ultra Pro mattes split on me side shuffling. It ruined my {Ponder}. Threw them out.
Switched to Dragon Shield. They got dirty quickly and the miscuts were annoying.
I switched to KMC Matte within the last year, and they're the best sleeve I've used yet. Packs of 80 is my only knock. I suggest everyone give them a try. They're as durable as Dragon Shield, don't stick like Utra Pro and they show off foils well (If you're into that).
Strongly considering trying out KMC now. My Ultra Pros are fine, as I've split about two in my whole magic career, but they seem to show dirt too much for my liking. My buddies use Dragon Shields, but it seems like every time they hand me a deck, its all stuck together, making shuffling tedious. It sounds like KMC doesn't have these problems, so I think I'll give them a try.

The Mattes are good ones. There are only 4 colors though, kinda lame. I have KMC metallic blue on my Illusions Modern deck, they're nice, haven't broken one - but I also barely play Modern.
The KMCs I got worked really really well for a while. Now the corners are bent and the things are damn near impossible to shuffle. Dragon Shields are unevenly cut and a little awkward at times, but they seem to last forever. No splits, no bends, nothing.
I have a set of KMC Mat Blacks that I've owned for about a year now, they're what I use on my main deck. They're still in very good condition and shuffle quite nicely, and the card visibility is beautiful, my decks are always full of foils and the sleeves make them really pop. Dragon shields are sweet, my only issue is the shuffling issues that happen over time. Almost all of my friends use Dragon Shields on their EDH decks, and whenever I pick one up to check it out it's always a brick. Which after a little handling slightly goes away, but still. And Ultra Pros are meh. I pick 'em up at PreReleases and Drafts often so I have a bunch of 'em, but as far as I'm concerned they're pretty disposable.

You said you use Mattes. The Mattes are good. It's just the regular ones that are bad.
Picked up some clear dragon shields tonight. I gotta say, I really like them. More than the other colors, possibly.
I have a set of the "limited edition" Ultra pros (80 of them came with a deck box for $12) they have elspeth on the back surrounded by other planeswalkers... I love them, the only problem I see with them is that every now and again, a side will split, I bought 160 of these sleeves for my Edh deck so I have plenty extra. I also purchased a separate ultra pro deck box for $15 in the bottom it has room for dice, and it fits my edh deck (sleeved) and a 60 card deck box comfortably. It is also super nice quality, and honestly, I cannot think of anything bad about it.
