If my opponent casts {acquire} targeting me, and I control {guardian beast}, what's the end result? Does the artifact hit the table at all? Or does the spell fizzle? The two cards seem to contradict each other.
They would search your library for an artifact. If they fail to find an artifact creature, (as {Guardian Beast} protects your non-creature artis) then nothing will happen. As mentioned a bit earlier, can't trumps can!
Edit: Ignore me, I need to go back to bed. Scars got it!
They gain control of the artifact. Or rater the artifact enters the battlefield under their control. Guardian only protects artifacts you control not the ones you own not under control in your hand library deck or exile.
