There have been combos in the pro tour (or so I've read) with {izzet guildmage} that play a mana producing card, copy it, let the copy resolve, then put another copy on the stack before te original resolves.
Can you do this if {djinn of illuminations} is in play and you play a mana producing card?

No replicate is an additional cost, additional costs must be paid all at once.

thank you
See the wording in replicate: you can pay it when you cast it. So you can choose how much to pay at this time.

guess its merely just a way to get a large burst in mana. Not unlimited mana
