Lets start an inverse thread here. I'll argue why god exists and science makes no sense.

I thought that it was scientifically proven most popular mode of operation for majority of humanity, to push their beliefs upon others? I do that a lot ;]
most people do.
Its sorta weird that I'm not like that being from the "bible belt" of 'Merica haha

Maybe you are mistaken and you are like that?
Say, I force my beliefs upon my family and friends by enforcing iMtG Law as system of ethics in relations between us. Regardless of what your system of ethics is, you are most likely to enforce it daily.
I've mellowed out over the years (tough to believe, I know) - I was a raging vegan, anarcho-crust punk. I just grew out of it one day. Still a vegan and an anarchist - and a jerk, evidently.

Aren't we all? Very subjective thing, drawing the line between you being a jerk and them forcing you to do stuff against your will, making them jerks - difficult to draw is :D

I was super into crust and D-beat for a period in my younger days. I was militant about vegetarianism and even made plans to trainhop across the country. Of course that didnt materialize. I grew out of all that, even though I listen to the music from time to time. Discharge's Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing is one of the brutalist records ever made, and I still regularly listen to Rudimentary Peni.

I still listen to crust and stuff. I just got more into screamo and black metal. The Fall of Efrafa is one of the bands that got me out of it all, they're a neo-crust, doom, black metal band. They broke up. Band called "Vestiges" is a newer band with a similar sound. Listen to "II" whenever you get in the mood.

Yah I've heard Vestiges. I started to get into crust-influenced hardcore bands like Pulling Teeth, Heathens, Mother of Mercy, etc. and now just listen to whatever I think sounds good. I've tried to get into black metal but Agalloch is the only thing I can really get into. However, skramz is the best. Ive been wanting to start a screamo band for the longest time but no one i know likes that kinda stuff :(

Yeah all those bands rules. Agalloch is sick too. You might like "Wolves in the Throne Room". They're a crust influenced black metal band. I play drums, but I can never get a screamo band going either - it sucks. I am been getting into electronic music more and more since I saw Crystal Castles a few years ago. The new album is so great - and it is a type of music I can do myself without needing a group of people.

Speaking of brutal bands - Gaza broke up. I'm pretty bummed out about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjs3-tti6r0
I saw Wolves in the Thrown Room a couple years ago. Loudest band I've ever seen. My ears rang for four days afterwards. Electronic music is fun to play. A have a few sound modules, a synth, a drum machine, and my laptop that I make that sort of stuff with. Its more like Kraftwerk and German minimalist type of stuff that you can dance to.

That sucks. I saw them with Converge, Coalesce, and Black Breath on the Axe to Fall tour. Singer was wearing a New Order short and we riffed for a few minutes afterwards about how awesome NO is.

Ha, the only musical talent I have is the ability to listen to it.
I am learning guitar so i can do a loud, ambient, black metal solo project - like Leviathan or Xasthur. Maybe a little more fun, danceable rock riffs like Nachtmystium or Krallice.

New Order does rule, Ive been known to still rock out to Joy Division. That sounds like a sick show. I've seen Converge like 13 times, they're one of my favorites.

I went to see Coalesce mainly but all four bands were great. Its been 13 years since I first got into JD and I still listen to them.
Are you in any bands currently?
Not in any bands. I work too much now, and my free time I devote to drinking and playing magic. I've been in like 15 crust bands in the New York area - I don't have any material to share. I was in a more professional Instrumental rock group that sounded like Explosions in the Sky - but they wanted to rent a monthly studio space and I didn't have time to commit to it.
I can draw the album cover.. hehe

Cool cool. I've played in punk bands over the years, and once branched out into playing bass for a band that sounded exactly like Neurosis. Being a direct rip off of that band and big egos is why I left. Also played in a band that sounded somewhat like Sonic Youth but those guys started wanting to play bars and 21+ shows (something I strongly oppose) and I left. Currently im in a punk band with rock'n'roll tendencies. Sorta like the Bronx. I've been playing in bands since I was 15. I don't see myself ever not making music.
I've recently been listening to a ton of bluegrass (my southern heritage shining through finally) and its made me want to pick up the banjo. Which I plan to do eventually.

Yeah. It's something I've always done. I am going through one of those moments where I gotta take things slow and do it my way for now. I miss gigging and meeting new people, but I am not feeling the vibe at the current moment.
I might be releasing a split with a local band with my Grindcore project - RPB. I just have to find time to mix it and do vocals. I'll be sure to link you to it when it comes out. If it gets received well I might do more of it.
Got any demos or anything? I'd like to hear your tracks. Maybe we can trade, make an Internet screamo band with songs based on Magic the Gathering. I have some weird Matt Bajda (from Funeral Diner, ...Who Calls So Loud) stuff in me.
Edit: these dudes in a band called "The Sky Above and the Earth Below" did a screamo album based on the Legend of Zelda (here (http://theskyaboveandearthbelow.bandcamp.com/album/quests-timescape)). A Magic the Gathering based EP should be no problem.

Dude I know exactly what you mean. When I started my current band, it was just me and the drummer, which I played with for three years in a band previously. We decided what we wanted to play and also decided that it wasnt going to be a democracy. Its basically what we want to play and that's it. It sounds kinda Rhichard-ish but if you have a clear vision of how you want to sound, then that's the way you gotta be. Luckily we found a super chill bassist that is just down to play whatever and the singer just wants to yell and jump around.
This is my band, if anyone is interested.
