Title: Havengul Lich
Post by: Bookmeister on March 17, 2013, 04:05:55 PM
I am a bit confused about {Havengul Lich}. I understand the activated ability of the creature goes in the stack and resolves before the creature that has the ability but after the stack resolves do I gain control of said creature? If so do I have to pay its mana cost?

His ability allows you to cast creatures from graveyards, so yes, you must pay their casting cost.

You pay the mana for its ability. You then have the option of casting it from the graveyard (mana cost must be paid). If you do cast it from the grave, you gain control of it, and the Lich gains its ablities, if any.

Edit: Gah! Scotch beat me to it 😕
