They do but if you get them both in your hand you have a turn 6 win.

Significantly faster if you have a ramp/other way to get it out faster

Black/ blue with  {Dark Ritual} or blue/green with elfs to speed up mana production?  Just a thought

{forest} , {lotus petal}, {dark ritual}x2 and a {collective voyage} should get you the mana a whole lot faster, so popping the combo on turn 3?
