If elixir of immortality is redirected to my opponent and he uses it where would it go from there?

{Elixir of Immortality}
Redirected? Did they steal it?
So he took control of your elexir? I don't know of cards that redirect abilities...maybe there are though. But in any case your opponent would gain 5 life and the {Elixir of Immortality} would go in your library along with your graveyard. I am pretty sure "owner" is different from "controller"...so even if he casts it or whatever you still get the second effect.
edit: hmm actually looking at the wording I think your opponent would get his gy in his library but you et elixir...
Yeah so you would get the elixir in your library and your opponent gets 5 life and gets his gy in his library. lol

Almost. The rulings for the card go into this in detail.
He took control of your artifact, paid and activated it.
He shuffles the elixir into your library, and shuffles his graveyard into his library.
No I went to cast elixir and he cast a redirect while it was still on the stack.... Uhh dur!
So he didn't counter it? He redirected it when you played it out of your hand?

Well it could until now
Would you be able to redirect an enchantment such as curse of misfortune as its being played?

I should clarify: if you check the rulings on {Redirect} you'll see that you can use it on auras like the curses. So, yes.
According to the glossary in the basic rule book, a spell is any card other than lands, so while elixir is being played(cast), a redirect would work on it, although since it does not select targets upon playing it, there would be no point. If the artifact card were to say when it enters the field target "X" has such and such happen, you could then redirect. After elixir has been played, the spell doesn't target anyone, the ability does.

Edit2: Okay, so while on the stack {Redirect}
can target {Elixir of Immortality} because it is not a permanent yet. This won't let you change ownership, only change any targets it may have, which it doesn't. So, maybe just kick him in the ankle instead.
