I'm really new to the game this is just something I'm messing with, too easy to beat or counter? Are mono color decks even worth playing anymore because all I seem to see are three colors

Would illusionist bracers equipped to a Boros reckoner cause the damage from into the maw of hell to proc twice?

For example, illusionist bracers equipped to Boros reckoner.  I cast into the maw of hell and deal the 13 damage to Boros reckoner. Would I then be able to do 26 damage to target creature or player?

Same thing (since illusionist bracer concept is a little confusing to me) if I had illusionist bracers equipped to a guttersnipe, if a cast pillar of flame, would I then deal 4 damage instead of the 2 damage from the guttersnipe's ability?

Okay, thank you for the quick response :) and schooling me on the difference between ability and trigger, I honestly had no idea

An activated ability is something that requires a cost to trigger, you have to "activate" it manually, rather than it doing it automatically.

Mono red and mono black are about the only single color decks that work anymore, atleast in standard. If you can get boros reckoner you can give your Into the Maw of hell a target to deal 13 damage to. Then you can win after minimal burn.

This my friend, is a false statement. I built a Killer mono green deck that made it into the top 8 at gameday with 50+ people. I would argue that mono green is much better then mono red, the only color one could argue for in favor is black, but I still think head to head the mono green would demolish mono black (undying ftw).

But now to get on topic, I don't know if 3 madcap skills is necessary with only 10 creatures (4 being devils)

The reason why I have them in there is because is someone doesn't want to pay the four life on turn one I can make vexing devil a 7/3 on turn two.   What would you replace them with?

I'm always up for tweaking to make this better, and while I was looking at adding more into the maw of hell to deal damage to a Boros reckoner, the latter is pretty expensive and I'm not into magic that hard core yet

If you are going to run the reckoner with so little creatures I would think about  {Blasphemous Act}. It would be a good board wipe plus with {Guttersnipe} and  {Boros Reckoner} it does some serious damage
