Black is technically absence of color. Black things absorb all frequencies of visible light and reflect none, so you see no color

Try explaining to a judge why your opponent can't chose "Black" as a color for {Iona, Shield of Emeria}. I'd love to see the look on his face. 😡 ðŸ˜,

Black is actually all colors mixed in equal parts together, so black is all colors. And similarly white is all colors of light placed together in equal parts. You could call him artifact jester though lol

Black is all pigments of color(not exactly, but quite), used with paint. When you talk about color, you are talking about light though.
