I have 2 that I incorporated in a zomb deck....mine failed but I didn't give it much effort. Keep in mind that he gives himself 2/1 as well.

Also I'd swap either the doom blades or the throats for the new {tragic slip} you won't find many creatures that are bigger than 13/13 so it's a great way to takedown rather than those with clauses.
