I have recently started playing EDH with a few friends of mine for fun. I've invested a little into a Boros style deck with {Gisela, Blade of Goldnight} as my general. After a few games no one wants to play with me now because I just play Gisela and smash face every time. How can I keep this general but have more fun?
Try adding additional legendaries to the deck that you can swap for the commander if your friends are getting tired of Gisela. {Brion Stoutarm}, {Razia, Boros Archangel}, {Basandra, Battle Seraph}, and {Aurelia, War Leader} would all probably go well in your deck, and give you the option to "change things up" if your friends are getting irritated.
Maybe give them hints on ways to stop it? Tell them to gang up on you? Play more of a political role?
We had a {Gisela, Blade of Goldnight} in our playgroup, we beat him down until he stopped using her.
Gisela affects everyone which is why they dislike her. But as others pointed out the only way for them to have more fun is to hold back kill spells, or put her into your deck. Either way there is probably no way for her to be "fun".
They are going to gang up on you, or you will release her and affect the game completely once she resolves, and I assume then protected.
Honestly once she hits the field she can be more annoying than Kaalia.
I would run Aurelia. Still should be fun for you, but most likely not overwhelming either. Still should be able to consistently win, but not at the expense of your friends nerves:)

We all know how annoying kaalia can be:) and I think Aurelia would make a fine commander!
I run Aurelia as a commander and she is much better than Gisela but she like Gisela is very bad for you if someone takes control of her. Also autelia can frequently one shot people in combat damage so be warned people may not like her much either
