Was considering building a deck with him, but have heard many complaints. Just looking for opinions on the card.
I was thinking the colors would be fun. My version would probably be a little more artfact heavy.
I just bumped my Zur deck take a look at it should give you an idea of what to run.

Cool thanks, but do people complain about you using him? I mean he can be a heavy control deck and people usually frown on that.
I usually only play 1 on 1 with him. But it's a fun game.
Zur is probably the most hated commander I've ever witnessed. He's really easy to abuse, and even the "weaker" decks can get out of control really fast. In my experience, when someone plays Zur, one of a few things happen:
1) He gets ganged up on and taken out immediately
2) People tell the Zur player choose another deck
3) He wins, and nobody else really has fun
This is just my experience of course, and could be different for others. One thing I will stand by though; he's probably the most hated commander out there.
I found a really sweet altered art so I thought of making the deck. I thought about leaving out infinite combos and such. I'm hoping my play group would allow him. But I have a Scion, Mimeo, Niv, and Obzedat that can all win consistently so I am not sure he will be much different.
My Scion deck is out of control once I learned to play it and now it is hard to stop even with a kill spell or hard counter. I guess the fact that he's 5 color makes people less afraid?

You could post up the link to see him! And I wouldn't mind playing him, but it would be a loss for me everytime. I would then know how people felt when I played them 1 vs 1 with kaalia
Zur is a scary guy to play with. Beware if playing multiplayer, he gets ganged up on pretty fast. The worst part is, if you build your deck right, it won't even matter if people gang up on you. He's really that abusable.

My playgroup would know what I am running for the most part, so I figured they would know and not freak out.

Alright, but its pretty hard to not make him overpowered. I don't mean to be discouraging, either. It's just that, in my experience, people have played him for the sole purpose of abusing him as much as possible. He's just one of those generals that's really good at what he does, and is pretty strong no matter what you do.
And just as a suggestion, if you want an artifact heavy esper deck, why not use a commander like {Sen Triplets} or {Sharuum the Hegemon}? Zur is doable, of course, but he really is built for enchantments moreso than artifacts.

Thought about both. Might make the deck so I can swap out Sen. We will see. I will post it up once I am close to being finished. Thanks again for your input.
