Title: Here goes..
Post by: Drewy on March 02, 2013, 08:38:47 AM
So, as you may have noticed, over the past few days i have said a lot of harsh things and negative karma actions that i want to take back. I have been going through some stuff at the moment that isnt helping either. As my karma may indicate im not liked around here, and therefore apologise to you all for being a jerk.
So i guess im asking for forgiveness... You dont have to be forgiving or even give me positive karma (however, positive karma will be given for it ;))
What do you say imtg? Give me a second chance?...

I'm willing to give you a shot. I can usually respect someone who has the courage to come out and say they're wrong, and try and make things right.

Keep this in mind though. This post is telling those of iMtG that you intend to change your behavior. If this is not true, you will be lying, and subject to punishment by iMtG law.

That being said, I hope to see some more positive things about/from you in the future.

That would ultimately be up to Piotr to decide, and dependent on the severity of the crime. The punishment may also be subject to the opinions of the mods and community.

It may or may not involve a beating with a rubber hose. I can't say.

It's funny how you get positive karma and it get you up then you get a bunch of negotiable and puts you at 0 so how about I +1 you and see if someone -1 to make you 0 again

But another thing is that you cant be mad at people for giving you negative karma. I mean when you get to -20 or something i can understand but -1 or -2 isnt bad. Just post some funny nice and helpful stuff.

Honestly, I don't forgive you. The way you trolled and gave so many people negative karma was absolutely not okay. I am being completely up front here because what you di was absolutely not okay.

You give a good point.

He does. However, continuing to penalize someone on general principle after the fact is rather unreasonable, assuming he gives no further justification to do so. You may not like a person after they have wronged you, but how long do you continue to punish them?

For instance, if someone serves a sentence for a crime, they have paid their price. We don't add more years unless they commit another crime. I would hope people would save their actions for another justifiable incident, instead of making someone into a pariah...

I have given you negitive karma for your "burn at the stake" comment, though I won't give you negitive karma unless you post something annoying, or mean, or something. So it sounds like someone gave you negitive karma for no reason, so I will give you another +1. But no more free bees

Edit: it glitched and gave you +2 it looks like

It mildly irritates me when this guy has the same amount of karma that I have, when I have never done anything bad. I wish everyone would just refrain from being a d-bag on here, cause seriously what does it accomplish?

Everyone's defines a douche differently. No one even uses the correct context.

It's the internet, where people may express themselves and learn about their own personality when receiving commentary from others. Hopefully he learned something rather than stating he knows how to be a good citizen now for the sake of public .politics.. I'm presuming many of you are younger than 16, (those who are older, your writing and grammar skills vouch for you - take note young jedis)
The Ericlay situation (mother got involved) and this one reflect a young mindset:

Your generation was born with the internet; you'll most likely never have to use 5 sources that are not from the internet for a bibliography for any papers youre assigned while in grade school. That being said, the Internet is a permanent record. I can find my postings when I was 12 in a Starcraft guild. Im 29 this April. That is a lot of time to make a stamp of yourself online, hopefully you don't have to recreate your online ID several times because you made a public fool of yourself. Several people do this in other forum communities I'm apart of and get called out again and again. Everytime they come back with an ego to impress everyone with, they leave shamed and called out by their peers.

Read your post before you post or make a complete asshat out of yourself by reacting with emotion. Emotion is not logical. You'll find this out with love.

Regarding Karma, don't make your point in communities just to be liked; be able to speak your truth and be liked for what you believe in, rather than speak what you believe will be liked.

Treacherous territory boys, so I ask you...

If a convicted murderer is sentenced to 25 years in prison, and the next day, legislation is passed that makes that same crime punishable for 30 years, will that individual have "paid their debt" , if you will.

My point being, it's more a matter of whether or not a debt has been paid, regardless of what that debt might be.

That being said, the system (in this case, iMtG) gives us the option to punish those we deem worthy of punishment in the only way we can.

Karma

Until a system is developed to combat heartless trollers and make the digital streets of discussion safer for us all, negative karma is our only defense.

Armed as such, I, and I'm sure many others, will be armed appropriately to see our ideas, concepts and "2 cents" fully explored in a positive manner.

But it is why we read these forums rather than staring at binary all day.
