Making an EDH deck for a friend with {The Mimeoplasm} as commander. What are the best cards for this deck?
{Hermit Druid} and {Fauna Shaman} fill up your graveyard. {Genesis}, {Eternal Witness}, {Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur}, {Venser, Shaper Savant}, {Sheoldred, Whispering One}, {Snapcaster Mage} (what deck should be without one?), {Sylvan Primordial}, {Boseiju, Who Shelters All}, {Psychatog}.
Things that destroy other things. {Terastodon}, {Acidic Slime}, {Big Game Hunter}, {Luminate Primordial}
{Burried Alive}, {Beacon of Unrest} and {Animate Dead} are all good cards for a semi-reanimator deck.
{Life's finale} is great too so you can clear the board, grab the best creatures out of your opponents deck, then cast and make mimeo HUGE!!!
{Liliana Vess} does a huge amount of work also in that deck. Tutors for cards to self-mill into your graveyard, discard engine to get them into the GY, and the ultimate paints a big fat target on your head for what amounts to an insta-win.
The Duel Deck: Liliana vs. Garruk foil is nice. I got one in my {Dromar, the Banisher} deck. Few cards get you ganged up on sooner.
Just made my mimeoplasm deck, I love it. Im not used to reanimator decks, but I win pretty consistently. Heres all the stuff I love in my deck:
My two favorite cards for loading your favorite ozze up with +1/+1s are {Lord of Extinction} and {Death's Shadow}. The shadow is a 1 drop that gets a 13 power in the graveyard.
Great targets for mimeoplasm to copy are {Stormtide Leviathan}, {Inkwell Leviathan}, {Simic Sky Swallower}, and {Triskelion} (almost too good, does not need haste or ublockable, and can kill everyone, my best is killing all 4 of my oponents after an oponent {Mind Grind} for 14 and i had a triskelion and {Lord of Extinction} in the yard.
Belive it or not, I love targeting {Fertilid} with mimeoplasm. It will make sure you wont run out of {Forbid} mana after casting some leviathin.
Another one of my favorite things to do is cast mimeoplasm copying {Corpsejack Menace} with lets say the {Death's Shadow}. Now you have 26 counters on it. Then cast {Bioshift} and move the counters onto something with unblockable or trample, like {Stormtide Leviathan} and corpsjack doubles those counters again allowing you too swing with something with 52 counters on it same turn.
{Necrotic Ooze} is just great, but it becomes the second sexiest ooze you have ever seen if you have {Gilder Bairn} and some sort of {Llanowar Elves} in the graveyard.
Your oponent's face is usualy priceless when you mill {Wonder}
{Vulturous Zombie} is just amazing in the deck, I love it when you have {Mindcrank} on the feild.
For getting choice things into your graveyard, {Jarad's Orders}, {Buried Alive}, {tunnel vision}, and {Fauna Shaman} are great.
For blunt mill, {Mesmeric Orb}, {Keening Stone}, {Traumatize}, {Mind Grind}, {Dreamborn Muse}, and {Hermit Druid} just get a huge amount of cards into graveyards.
Then toss in the normal stuff like {Whispersilk Cloak}, {Lightning Greaves}, reanimate-like stuff, your clones, mabye a few counters, some more mana acceleration, and your boardwipes, and you will end up with a great deck.
And dont fall for stuff like {Bonehoard}, {Lumberknot} or anything that gives you a max hand size like I did. Remember, it may be cheeper/better to discard a creature or two and combine 'em with mimeoplasm later.
The one thing I wish I had more of in my deck was draw power, I never get a card that I dont want to cast, and {Fertilid} and {Hermit Druid} make sure I can play anything in my hand.
Because I am runing 3 creatures that steal abilities, {Necrotic Ooze}, {Quicksilver Elemental} and {Experiment Kraj}, im thinking about {Devoted Druid}
