Title: Deck Vs Deck
Post by: Neids on February 21, 2013, 07:35:42 PM
Just a random thing I'm about to do. Was wondering if any of you guys or girls out the on IMTG play themselves using your own decks?

Yup, usually on cockatrice though. Ill often "dry play" my deck though to get a feel for what is a keepable hand.

Dry play: no opponent, 4-8 turns or play over and over to see how it should usually run.

I used to but I realized it was counter productive because I would always like one deck better than the other and then purposely play the non favorite deck badly so it would lose -.-

I love  seein the strengths between decks, seeing combos in decks come to life.

{Charmbreaker Devils} really showed their awesomeness when I tested them in my land destro deck.  {Stone Rain} coming back every hand!

Sometimes a deck loses badly and I wonder what happened, but then you have to look at your other deck that won and compliment yourself on how well it was constructed 😂🎉

When I build a new deck, I'll put it up against myself and my other decks as a sort of alpha test to see if it's viable enough to go up against people or if it was just a terrible idea.

I do this too!! 

However, I'll go on Cockatrice and play about 4-5 turns for a few games and see how the new deck draws.  If it consistently gets bad hands, I just take it bak to the drawing board.  I'll do that up until I think I've got the deck about where I want it and go online and test against others :)

Using sample draws in imtg's deck builder is helpful too...in a similar way...What would I do with this openning hand?  Etc.
