Anyone else have hopes of Wizards revisiting {astral slide} and the cycling mechanic? Slide was the first deck I had back in the day that actually had a strategy to it. So much fun.
Cycling is a 1 on MaRo's storm scale. It will definelty return.

That makes me happy. Think {astral slide} will see a reprint if cycling comes back in a big enough way?
I hope they do bring back {Baneslayer Angel}!
My heart breaks at the fact that there will "never" be a Serra or Urza planeswalker card.

Why won't there be?
Well, Urza was decapitated by {Gerrard Capashen}, as seen in {Phyrexian Arena} and {Urza's Hot Tub}.
Not too sure about Serra, though.
Infect needs to be in the "Never" section...

I want infect back every single day XD
Chroma, infect, and phyrexian mana all need to resurface right now.
Infect = stupid. No one can interact with it once it happens. If you get hit with Infect you basically cannot remove it. That type of interaction is why everyone hated Hexproof.
phyrexian mana = stupid. Spend a resource of life for mana? I thought {Necropotence} was too strong? Then they go and ban {Mental Misstep} in every format? It is nerfed overall because it is a silly proposition. You don't want more of it, because it'll end up like Cipher.
Back to the topic at hand, I'd really love to see cyclin come back. Cards replacing themselves depending on the situation at hand is a huge advantage in any format.
Anyone who is keeping track of those knows Wizards insider stuff (via Mark Rosewater), knows of the struggle between "target player draws a card" vs "draw a card". Cycling will be back, and as soon as the "Friends" set as far as anyone knows. But drawing cards is dangerous in their mind. Any card they've ever made that tells you to draw cards for any reasonable amount gets banned or nerfed.

Exactly. Imagine the possibilities if {astral slide} gets a reprint or a facelift into something similar. I seriously hope that happens. Cycling is an amazing mechanic.
I don't know how soon Cycling will be reintroduced considering how anti-card drawing Wizards has been. Basically EVERYTIME they try it, someone breaks it and kills it.
Could you imagine how insane it would be if we got cycling and something like {eternal witness} in the same block? With the right flicker cards, it would basically turn into "pay X mana and draw X cards."

Actually, I was going off of them being in his "never" section.

It's okay, but it's no {Storm Crow}.
Seriously, though, I love cards like Baneslayer. 5/5s for fives, 6/6s for six, anything like that with an awesome effect is almost always worth it.

Why did he decapitate him? I thought Gerard was a good guy?
Long story short, Yawgmoth forced them to fight. Urza had nearly killed Gerard twice, but Yawgmoth kept making them restart the battle, calling Urza's tactics cowardly. The third time around, Urza was decapitated by his former friend.
