I've decided I want to make a {Lazav, Dimir Mastermind} edh deck. I think it would be a blast to play because you never know what he'll be able to turn into when you're milling your opponents or killing their creatures. Any card suggestions for the deck would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
I'm working on one myself. I recommend {Traumatize} for sure. With enough tutors, you can easily set up {Glimpse the Unthinkable} in an {Isocron Scepter}, too. You can also have some fun with discard, cards like {Jace's Archivist} and {Wit's End} can really trip up a player and give you any options from their hand for Lazav to copy.

I'm afraid glimpse is a no go, since its a sorcery 😕.
In my personal experience, {Trepanation Blade} works wonders, especially when combined with {Mindcrank}. If you want to go infinite, throw in the {Duskmantle Guildmage} and {Mindcrank} combo. As Gorzo said, {Traumatize} is a must, and playing a {Bojuka Bog} afterward is heartbreaking. Nothing's more fun than exiling half your opponents library, short of a JTMS ult. I've also found that {Consuming Aberration} can get really out of hand, but people will try and kill it as soon as possible. And one of my personal favorites, {Nemesis of Reason}, should find a home, as well as {Szadek, Lord of Secrets}, if you don't mind the mana cost and such.

Thanks you two those are some great cards to get my deck started off!
The Eldrazi can ruin mill strategy pretty hard. If you {Traumatize} someone, and you put a {Kozilek, Butcher of Truth} or {Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre} - they shuffle their entire graveyard back into their library.
{Leyline of the Void} is a must, so those cards never actually go to the Graveyard. You wanna recycle your own graveyard with {Psychic Spiral} and anything that tells you to shuffle.

That's true about hoping to mill. But if you play leyline don't you cripple your commander??
Yes I think {Leyline of the Void} would cripple my commander making every card sent to the graveyard not actually touch it making lazav never able to morph into something else
{Nemesis of Reason} or + {Consuming Aberration} and {Rite of Replication} could be fun as well, also since the color is available, why not mix in some recursion so you are sure that you can always get them out, I also agree that tutors are needed to ensure some great combo pieces, ensure that every card in your build helps in some way towards your goal of making the opponents mill to get {Lazav, Dimir Mastermind} to be something very powerful, and also keeping opponents options low via discard abilities/spells... {Geth, Lord of the Vault} would be beneficial, as you not only mill, but get a creature as well. Or, if an opponents has a particularly fun creature out that you want why not use {Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet} and get two copies of it, ( assuming you have lazav in play)... Just some ideas
Gah, that's twice in one night I biffed a post with isocron and a sorcery :P I am dumb. Need to stop posting at 5am.
But yeah, all of these are good suggestions. As for the Eldrazi conundrum, its fine. So they shuffle their library back. You get a hexproof copy of {Ulamog, the infinite Gyre} on the battlefield (likely without summoning sickness) which is enough to win on its own. You don't need Leyline. If you really want to prepare, grab some instant-speed graveyard removal like {cremate}. It will shuffle the library in because the trigger is on the stack, but it will itself be exiled, so you'd be free to mill them again.

Or {Ravenous Trap} can do the job.
{Traumatize} - Lazav's ability - {Keening Stone}, find a spell/creature ability to retrieve traumatize constantly and repeat.
{Avatar of Woe} is awesome in mill.
Thanks for all the ideas guys. I will take all of them into consideration! Feel free to keep posting more, maybe tomorrow or in a few days I will post up a deck list for it in the commander section.
Was waiting on getting an {Oona, Queen of the Fae} for a blue/black edh I've made but Lazav is pretty solid! Guess he's off the trade binder!

Yea he can become a nasty general
Curious couldn't Kazan just become a copy of the eldrazi? Instead of it recycling the GY

He could, since the Eldrazi hit the graveyard, but it wouldn't stop the graveyard from being shuffled back into the library.
