Title: Question for those over 21
Post by: Birdbrain on February 19, 2013, 07:49:56 PM
What do you think a root-beer float would taste like with actual beer? And what are your favorite drinks and why?

Ha never actually thought of that but I've had Vodka milkshakes. They weren't bad. It would probably be good if you used really good beer.

That sounds disgusting. Only one way to find out though. I would try it if presented one hahah. My favorite drink is Guinness. All day. Love the burnt, rich taste. Im not much of a liquor drinker.

Disgusting. Have you ever drank beer after eating something sweet? Imagine that with all the time eating something sweet

Also, I laugh every time I remember that the drinking age in the US is 21 that's so insane.

I know! Suckers!
"18 years old? Well you can help decide the fate of the country by voting, but a beer? GTFO!"

Interesting shinfo. My state (Louisiana) was the last state to adopt the 21 legal drinking age. And that was only because the federal government threatened to stop giving us highway funding money.

Ive actually never drank...bad experiences that I don't want to go into..the last being three days after my birthday of 2007. Though I am curious about what makes a good drink, and sometimes have weird thoughts like this. Just thought I'd create this topic to see everyone's opinion on the subject. What does make a good drink?

You can probably make it a good drink, but sugar and alcohol make a nasty hangover.

People drink stuff ranging from White Russians to Guiness to Bloody Marys to scotch.

That's a pretty broad question. Or were you just hoping for a survey?

The Dude abides.

I love stouts personally. At first it was to set myself apart from my buddies who drink Natty light n Bud Light, then I got to where it was the only beer I will drink. Milk Stout, Sam Adams Cream Stout, and Guinness are good but my FAVORITES are Yeti Stout, Obsidian Stout, and Dark Truth.  Stout or not at all for me these days.

Those are pretty common , beer floats.

Tequila - a stimulant, a little bit goes a long way, a fun Drunk

Rum on rocks - no Bacardi or crap rum, good imported rum from the south Americas made from real good sugar cane coconut etc

Beer - lost coast brewing company, try the great white and you'll be set on flavor beers.

A local microbrewery makes a stout float.  Tried it on a dare and went back for more over the years.  I know it doesn't sound quite right, but it balances well with the stout.

I could see that, considering stouts are usually creamy in texture.

I say stick to root beer for floats. Granted, I don't drink, so my knowledge of of alcoholic beverages is severely limited, but as the saying goes "don't fix what ain't broken."

Lol @ good rums made from the best coconuts

Travel to the Bahamas. Some amazing stuff there 😁

It's a shame most rums aren't widely distributed in the USA

Drinking is bad for your liver. Stick with main menu -> Card Database -> pick a card -> Legalities*.

* make sure you're over 25-ish or that you don't mind distorting your natural cannabinoids system. Kinda like coffee.

What does make a good drink?

Grapes!

outside of a dry holiday wine, I'm pretty much a teetotaler, like Bird and Gorzo.
