Which one: gatecrash, avacyn restored or innistrad
Innistrad. I've typed this suggestions 3 or 4 times in the past week now :P
Go with Gatecrash, it's got some pricey rares.
Def innistrad

I honestly thought there weren't that many. The shocks, {Boros Reckoner}, {Obzedat, Ghost Council} and a couple of $10-$12 rares, but the prices on Gatecrash aren't really stabilized yet. Innistrad is pretty pricy and has been out long enough that the expensive cards have already shown themselves, so to speak.

Yeah, that was my bad. When I think Gatecrash, it automatically goes to "Omg, Boros Reckoner $25" XD
Innistrad is definitely the better pick.
I'd go with Gatecrash only because there are 17 or more rare/mythics worth over 5 bucks, whereas Innistrad is only 11.
But that's just me.
And that's also if you're just going to buy a box and try to flip the rares for value right now.
This has actually been a popular topic over the last week or so. Tax season is a blessing haha
I'd personally go with Innistrad. But everyone is chasing Gatecrash cards right now, so I can see how that would be tempting.
Innistrad all day

Buy the rares you want.
This. That's always my #1 choice when I have disposable income. I like the thrill of opening boosters but I don't have the money for all that.

That's the only way how to not open ton of useless junk...;)
I would go gatecrash just cuz out of 10 packs I got 7 mythics
I would also recommend saving your time and avoid getting a ton of cards you may never play, just purchase the ones you are after. I can guarantee that you will not open a playset of the rare you are chasing from a booster box, and possibly not even from a case of boosters.
Buy a common and uncommon playset from somewhere that sells them, then get the chase rares you are after.
On another note. Standard rotates all the time, and inistrad will only be playable for another 8 months, then most likely you will have a bunch of cards that will never be played again,(of course depending what formats you play)
I personally would go with Dark Ascension, but that's me. Alternatively, you could look on here for what rares you'd like then go buy the box appropriately.
Otherwise, wait it out for Dragon's Maze, then buy a booster box of that.
I'm ordering 2 Boxes of GTC tonight, mostly because I play mainly Standard and have a majority of the other cards from our current sets, also because I have little to no GTC, I have what I opened at the Prerelease and that's it.

Now that I think about it, DA has quite a few "money cards"

Dude for that $250 you could buy a playset of half of the shock lands.
Think about it first
Do you gamble?
Tax season is a beautiful thing.

No. The closest thing would be cracking a pack here and there.
I used to buy boxes, but I won't anymore.
Buying a box got me a good pull, I enjoy keeping separate from my collection so friends and I can do a quick gatecrash draft with one another. I had already constructed all my decks before GTC and now it's getting silly when I think about resplicing them, TOO MUCH GEEKIN OUT!
during RTR I bought 3 fatpacks. the first two i was able to flip most of the stuff to buy more/trade. the third pack i bought was complete garbage. I will most likely never buy that many fatpacks again but i'd say i learned my lesson. Singles are perhaps the best way to go. especially if you can trade them off later after you've gotten the use out of them.
