What are the highest priced cards you know?
Besides the power 9 and alpha edition etc, {tarmaghoyf} and {jace the mind sculptor}
{Mana Drain} comes to mind
If you're talking standard, then {Geist of Saint Traft}, {Thundermaw Hellkite}, {Liliana of the Veil}
Sup {Black Lotus} and the power 9 ;)
And those old dual lands will always be worth a boat-load. {Taiga} and the like.
{Loyal Retainers}
{Juzam djinn} is definitely one that has always been pricey other than the power 9
{Library of Alexandria}
Everything from Portal Three Kingdoms :P

The game was different back then. A 5/5 for 4 mana just didn't exist. 4 mana got you a 3/3 back in the day.

Why does it still cost so much then?
It's about 20 years old and extremely limited.
Plus look at the art!
{Juzám Djinn} is so expensive for many reasons. Arabian Nights was the 4th expansion set with a 5,000,000 print run, Ice Age was 400,000,000. Promo cards alone, all commons, for Ice Age, was 4,000,000 printed.
An estimate of how many Djinns are in existence is around 20,000 printed.
It's also on the reserved list, never to be printed again.
Cards from the golden age of magic, 20 years ago, aren't always about card quality. Sure plenty of cards are better than the Djinn, but nostalgia, extreme rarity, limited number in existence, etc etc, all contribute to a high price.
If I happen to have any if these, do you think my local store would buy them?

Do they have a buy list that you know of?
