Title: Interview piercings
Post by: Nepentheceae on February 08, 2013, 05:57:08 AM
I have an interview at target this month... Do I leave in the facial piercings or no? They said it would take 2 hours so I'm scared they will close over :S

It really depends on the amount of/placement of them. Id say as long as u have good rep 1 or 2 is fine, but we may need more info

I have a lip and septum (middle of nose) I know my last job tried to tell me they were a health violation so I'm wondering if alot of company's try to use that as an excuse

You might be screwed. I've seen a few cashiers at target that have band aids on face. I don't think they allow facial piercings while working.  See if you can't find a clear retainer for them before interview.

I actually work at Target part time and no, it will not affect anything. Good luck with the interview!

I used to flip my ring up into my Jose for work when I had my septum pierced. I'd say to take out the piercings into better your chances of employment. Find a spacer if you're worried about them closing up. But unless they are pretty new piercings, two hours shouldn't be a problem. Good luck!

I have snakebites and I can leave them out for a week or two at a time without them closing up, I've had 'em for around 5 years though.

The best thing to do is to take them out for the interview and then if u get hired just wear them to the job as normal. I have 3 piercings and that is what I do and have never had an issue at my jobs (one of which was infact at target). And as long as u have had the piercings longer than 6 months your holes will take alot longer than just a few hours to close up. Trust me, I have gone almost 3 months before without the piercings in and when I put them back in they go in with no issue.

Take them out. Show professionalism for any job whether its a career job, or bak room at target. But don't be afraid to question about the jobs position on facial peircings

I have many piercings as long as you've had them for over 1 year an hour or two out wont cause the holes to close

Idk why it's 2 hours but they are doing a mass interview session because we just got target in Canada and the store isn't ready yet... I always thought it to be kind of a bad move to not show your true appearance, but if it gets me hired I will remove them.

This. Remove them and ask on the interview. Also, ask yourself if you want the job enough to take them out every day before work and put them back after.

It's 2013 I wish facial piercings were as accepted as earlobe piercings are -_-
If I had to take them out everyday to work a minimum pay job I probably would look else where...

As an interviewing manager in a retail business I would suggest taking them out, (use clear spacers if your worried about them ) and ask your interviewer about policies on peircings, (earrings are fine but facial usually has certain guidelines to follow)

It's a strange world we live in - self expression or a little bit of money to barely keep up for the next month....

I've not worn a lip piercing in 7+ months and I just every week or so put my toingue bar through it so it stays open and I heal quick
