Title: Cauldron of Souls
Post by: Raven316 on February 08, 2013, 05:47:49 AM
If u use {Cauldron of souls} ability on a creature and it goes to the graveyard does it still have persist when it reenteres the battlefield and can u still kill it and have it come back over and over if you keep on removing the -1/-1 counters on it?

Only if you keep reactivating the cauldron. When creatures leave the battlefield (i.e. persist) they become new creatures, which no recollection of their previous state of being. Giving a creature persist once will cause the effect to trigger when it dies, but after changing zones to the GY and back the effects end. The trigger is placed, resolves, and you have a brand new creature but with a -1/-1 counter. If you reactivate cauldron, the new creature gains persist, and this process starts all over again.
