And he was testing out the new evolve mechanic and it did not seem to have any power behind it. +1/+1 on a 0/4 was about as much as he was gaining on average. Have you guys tried it? Any ideas?
{vexing devil} and {slumbering dragon} are pretty good with evolve. The dragon can benifit from a {bioshift} as well.
It is very effective for swarming. You do have to carefully build around it though to ensure you get the most value out of the mechanic. It is definately not battalion where you simply turn things sideways and do stuff.

I like evolve. Use a mix of low power/high toughness and vice versa for early game drops, mid way use some bigger drops to keep it up. BUG to splash {corpsejack menace} and make it better. And some Gruul nasties for the later game. That's how I played it in a limited setting. (Well except the corpsejack obviously)
I like it a lot, but I think it is far from the best mechanic between RTR and Gatecrash :(
