Title: Land destruction
Post by: MR.CHUBBYKINS on September 13, 2011, 01:20:56 AM
Does anyone think that land destruction might be viable in standard?

Was it ever viable? I was playing in the times of Stripmine x4 Sinkhole x4, but after that? ;)

The only way in type 2 to do LD is g/r and to use the turn one land bird turn two beast withen then what ever red LD then on... The lack of the 3 mana LD kinda stalls the deck... Thank god for beast withen... I think it will be some time b4 a tier 1 type 2 LD is back in the meta... Come on reprint stone rain

They will never print stone rain or molten rain in the same standard format with beast within I don't think.

If they do it will be like 3 red mana or at least 2

Molten rain does cost 2 red, still no lol nobody likes to play against land destruction so wizards doesn't go out of their way to make it stronger.

I had a standard LD that revolved around {Galvanoth}, {Noxious Revival}, {Reclaim}, and {Melt Terrain}.

I really like running LD decks. Partially because I'm a bastard, but mainly I just really like control decks. My other main tourney deck is a B/U control/zombie (extra heavy on control!) It's only got 2 different creatures in the whole deck. Any chance I can whip up a control deck with a color other than blue or black I'm on it. Even my mono red burn deck is only creature control until I get my finishers out. HE HE HE! I mean really, what is more controlling than stripping you of your mana.

By the way, great idea with the nouxious revival. I'll have to work that in some how.

You want some real control with mono red. {Cunning Sparkmage} and {Basilisk Collar}. I call it the death poker. Lol
